Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Liner, a music identity platform operated by Liner Media ("we", "us"). By creating an account or otherwise using Liner you agree to these terms. This is a v1 draft — we will publish the final version before opening to the public.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Liner. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may only use Liner with a parent or guardian's permission.

2. Your account

You sign in to Liner through Spotify or via a magic-link email. You are responsible for the security of your account and for activity that happens through it. We never see your Spotify password — Spotify handles that part.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Liner to harass, defame, or harm any person.
• Submit prompts intended to extract our system instructions, jailbreak the assistant, or otherwise abuse the AI.
• Scrape, mirror, or commercially redistribute Liner content without permission.
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate someone else.
• Upload content you do not have the right to use, including images.

4. Music service integration

Liner connects to your Spotify account to read your listening history, search for tracks, and create playlists on your behalf. You can disconnect Spotify at any time from your account settings; doing so revokes our access to your Spotify data.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the prompts you submit, the playlists you generate, and any posters that result. By posting content publicly on Liner (e.g., by sharing a poster link), you grant us a non-exclusive license to display that content on Liner and in social-share previews. You can delete a playlist at any time, which removes it from Liner and from your Spotify library.

6. Our content

The Liner name, wordmark, poster typography, editorial design, and software are ours. You may not reuse them outside of using Liner as intended.

7. Third-party services

Liner uses a number of third-party services to operate: Spotify (music data), DeepSeek (AI generation), Pixabay (poster photography), Supabase (data hosting and authentication), Resend (email delivery), and PostHog (product analytics). Their terms apply to the parts of the service they provide.

8. Termination

You can stop using Liner at any time. We can suspend or end your access if you violate these terms, abuse the service, or use it in ways that put other users at risk.

9. Disclaimers

Liner is provided "as is." Music recommendations are generated by AI and may be wrong, incomplete, or unavailable in your region. We don't guarantee uninterrupted access or that the service will be free of bugs.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Liner is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

11. Changes

We may update these terms as Liner evolves. We'll post the new version here with an updated effective date. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice.
